My dad took me and my sister, Gretchen and her husband, Jason on a tour of different places in Utah where he and his family have lived. I thought everyone would like these pictures.
This is the picture of their house in Lamb's Canyon, just off of Parley's Canyon. Henry and Wanda (my grand-parents) moved here with their three children at the time (David, Yvonne, and Ann) all under the age of four. My dad and my uncle Ernie were born when they lived here. They lived here about three years.

After they lived in Lamb's canyon, they moved to Granite. Even though their home isn't there now, we saw the area. They lived here from the time my dad was three 'till he was twelve.

This was the church they went to when they lived in Granite. My dad, at the age of twelve, built a model of this chapel to help raise money to build the next church.

This was my great aunt Charlotte and great uncle Philip's house which is right next to where my dad's family's Granite house was located.
My great grandfather, E.E. Lifferth designed and built this house after coming to America from Germany.

My great grandpa West used to live in this house. We stopped and talked to the lady who lived right next door. She said that she remembers 'brother West' and said that he was so nice always taking care of she and her family.
After living in Granite, my dad's family moved to Midway where they lived in what is now a bed and breakfast called the Johnson Mill. It looks very different than what it used to. They girl who was working there let us come and see inside and all around the property. They lived here from the time my dad was twelve 'till he was seventeen.

This is separate from the bed and breakfast now, but this was the house they lived in. Their old work shop (before that it was a wheat mill) is now the bed and breakfast.
This was their work shop and is now the B and B.
This was their house on the left and pond where my dad jumped in to rescue a goat mid-winter.

This is a picture of the mill before they lived there. It is on display in the foyer of the B and B.
This is a duplex that my parents lived in soon after they were married. They had Monica, Zach, and Noah at the time.
This is a house that my parents lived in after the duplex with the same number of children. This was right through the block from my great grandpa West. My aunt Ann and her family lived near here also, but my dad couldn't remember which house.

Great pics! Brian and I actually stayed at Johnson Mill once - it is very nice, beautiful scenery. I love going back to see where my family has lived. Did you guys go to West Valley?
Thanks for posting these! Deb and I are reading Grandma's book that Tanna wrote. It's great to actually see the places that she talks about.
Thanks.
Awesome post Sis! Thank you for putting up all the pictures. I really wish I could have been there with you.
Yeah Jamie, My parents stayed at the Johnson Mill once too. It was very nice.
Thanks for the photo tour! That was very enjoyable to read!
awsome pics
Great post. Is the blue house in SUgarhouse? I knew that Grandpa West lived in Sugarhouse and Aunt Ann, but I didn't know that your family lived in Sugarhouse. Very interesting. The house on Roberta Street is such a cool house. Too bad you couldn't go inside, it would be interesting to see what the inside looks like.
Really enjoyed the pictures Bridgett! Thank you. In fact, many of those houses are on my list of things to see next time I visit the States. Thanks again, Kousin Karl
Oh yeah, your aunt Ann lived at 1759 Garfield ave.
Yeah, that blue house is in Sugarhouse. I think that duplex is too. All those houses in that area were really cute. The lady we talked to that remembers great-grandpa West was really nice and she talked about different people who have lived in his house since then and some of her memories of the family including grandma. It was really cool to hear about.
I would totally recommend taking a tour of all the houses. It was really cool because my dad read some parts of Tanna's book that happened in the places we saw. Cool tour.
It was very cool to see everything! Especially after reading Aunt Tanna's book, you really appreciate a little more everything that the Lifferth's went through. I highly recommend it to everyone related.
First off, Congratulations!!
Thanks for taking us down memory lane! I was wondering what condition the Lamb's Canyon home was in. And I remember when your family lived near mine in Sugar House. We lived on Garfield Ave. I can't think of the house address either.
Love, Mimi
